The accident occurred near the village of Kolchino, aroung 13:00. The minibus driver, who, according to preliminary reports, had provoked the accident, died.
As the traffic policemen told a correspondent of the Mukachevo.net at the scene, given the effects of accidents, the KAMAZ and the minibus were moving toward Mukachevo, the truck was moving in the opposite direction. The minibus driver, in the overtaking restriction area, decided to overtake the KAMAZ and collided head-on with the truck, and then also ran into the KAMAZ, that had caught up the minibus.
As a result, the truck stopped across the road, its cab is smashed. The KAMAZ also ended up in the middle of the road with a ruined cab, and the minibus slid into a ditch. The minibus driver died on the spot. Two passengers of the minibus and the driver of the KAMAZ were hospitalized. The driver of the truck sufferred minor injuries.
Currently, the route Kyiv – Chop from Mukachevo to Kolchino is blocked.
