This was reported by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal on his official website.

Over the past two days, on the green border, the police detained three local residents who were trying to smuggle abroad nine boxes of cigarettes. The cigarettes were seized and the detainees (men of military age) were sent to the military commissariat to be conscripted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
- Moskal said.

He also said that the day before yesterday, the police found six boxes of cigarettes in one of the freight trains carrying ore abroad. In addition, near the border with Slovakia, border guards spotted a glider that took off to Slovakia.

In general, according to the head of the region, the number of smuggling attempts in recent days has decreased dramatically. At the same time, employees of military offices are searching for persons who are registered in police databases as smugglers to serve them conscription calls. According to Moskal, in total there are about 2,500 such persons in the region.
