While monitoring the state border in the area of "Velyky Berezny" department, border guards of the Chop detachment detected near the barrier a citizen of Ukraine who tried to run away. However, as a result of coordinated actions of the group, the fugitive was detained. During the inspection of documents, it was found out that the detained person had been repeatedly brought to responsibility for organizing smuggling of illegal migrants. Therefore, it was decided to strengthen the control and begin searching the area for possible identification of persons the detainee might have accompanied to Slovakia.
Later, 400 meters from the state border, border guards found five African men without documents. According to them, they all came from Somalia.
Currently, the illegal immigrants were brought to the border unit. The court will determine their further fate. As for the citizen of Ukraine, criminal proceeding was initiated, and the activities to identify the rest of the organizers and accomplices involved in the channel of illegal migration are being caried out.
