At the checkpoint "Tisa", a foreigner was caught with second-hand

Recently, a truck "DAF XF95" with a trailer driven by an EU citizen, arrived to the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office.

According to the submitted shipping documents, he was moving across the border to Ukraine bulk goods: second-hand clothing, shoes, mattresses and bicycles. The total gross weight of the goods was 11,810 kg, the cost was more than 144,000 UAH.

However, as a result of weighing of the said vehicle with the cargo, the scales of the checkpoint "Tisa" showed that the actual weight exceeded that indicated in the shipping documents by more than 4000 kg. This was the grounds for a full customs inspection of goods and the vehicle.

Thus, during the customs inspection of the cargo, it was found out that the cargo space of the vehicle contained clothing and footwear weighing more than that specified in the shipping documents. In addition, they found undeclared used towels, linens, blankets, pillows with a total gross weight of more than 1,700 kg.

Thus, the foreigner was moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealing them from customs control by submitting the customs authority documents containing false information about the weight and range of the product.

His actions have signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the CC Ukraine, used clothes, shoes, towels, linens, blankets, pillows with a total gross weight of nearly 4000 kg, worth more than 26,600 UAH were temporarily seized.
