A violator of the customs rules was detained in Transcarpathia
Yesterday, on July 26, a citizen of Ukraine driving a "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 318CDI" arrived to the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office. The Ukrainian was returning from Italy (Milan), where he had been in private business, to Ukraine (Chernivtsi).
The citizen of Ukraine chose the "red corridor" lane for customs control. He was asked to fill out a customs declaration where he indicated his passport details, and the presence of luggage with personal things - four travel bags.
During the oral questioning, the citizen confirmed the information provided by him in the customs declaration, and denied carrying any other goods, including those prohibited or restricted for trasportation across the customs border of Ukraine.
Part 1 of Article 318 of the Customs Code of Ukraine entitles customs officers to carry out customs control of all goods and commercial vehicles crossing the customs border of Ukraine. Taking advantage of it, in addition to four bags of the citizen's personal belongings, customs officers found in the vehicle four more travel bags that had not been inticated in the customs declaration and not stated during the oral questioning. They contained women's clothes and bags of different brands, different models, sizes and colors - a total of 184 pieces. The goods weighing 61 kg were found in the cargo compartment of the car on the floor among the personal belongings of the citizen. Access to it was not hindered.
Thus, a citizen of Ukraine failed to provide accurate information about the goods being transported by him across the customs border of Ukraine, which in this amount are subject to a written declaration and taxation. These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the report on violation of customs rules was drawn up, and the goods were seized.
