Volunteer rescue squads will be created in Transcarpathia

Ukraine, and Transcarpathian region in particular, is getting actively involved in the implementation of the programs of the European Union Danube Strategy. One of the example of this is the project "Help Team Ukraine" approved as part of this strategy, which was prepared by the Transcarpathian Agency for Investment, Innovation and Development.  It is about creating voluntary rescue organizations that could be engaged in emergencies similar to those in neighboring European countries where such voluntary formations have been working effectively for a long time.

One of the partners in the project is the Department of Regional Development and the organization of the Vysocina region of the Czech Republic.

February 19, the delegation of the Vysocina region headed by the regional council member Martin Hysky visited Transcarpathia to develop joint activities for implementation of the project. The delegation also included experts of the regional development department of the regional government Petr Tlustos and Lenla Matushkova. In addition to meeting with specialists of the Transcarpathian Agency for Investment, Innovation and Development, the Czech guests met with the rector of UzhNU V.Smolanka, representatives of several NGOs.

At the Regional Council, the delegation of the partner region met with the Chairman of the Council Volodymyr Chubirko, during which they discussed possible participation of the two regions in EU programs and steps to prepare the participation of Transcarpathian region in the Days of regions in Jihlava and presentation of our region in Milan.
