Transcarpathians pay the highest station fee in Ukraine

Bus stations in Transcarpathia charge the fee that exceeds "additional charges on ticket" anywhere else in Ukraine.  The second place in this ranking is occupied by Odesa region.

It refers to the station fee, that passengers pay for the ride. In our region, it amounts to 10% of the fare. Another 17% from carriers "goes into the pocket of the owner of bus stations," the number of which in the region is almost 20. And they all belong to the same company.

"Monopolist - we can't do anything about it.   No matter how many times we tell them that such amounts are too high for the most western region of the country, they refuse to cut it. And it affects the most vulnerable categories of population. It is well known that buses are mostly used by Transcarpathians with low incomes..." - Mykhailo KIVKOVYCH - the Director of the Economic Development and Trade Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration characterized the situation.

And this private company, that does not care about the problems of ordinary countryman, is none other than the "ZAKARPATAVTOTRANS" PJSC... The head of the company is Yosyp Krechko.

It's hard to say whether the situation will change soon. Probably yes, but not in a good way for passengers, because carriers say the fares are too low. They are going to initiate an appeal to the head of the Regional State Administration with a request to increase the tariff by at least 50 kopiykas per one kilometer of road.

Recall that on weekend, the fare on long-distance routes already increased by 5 kopiykas for each kilometer of road!
