Transcarpathian customs officers found out a forgery, confiscated timber, and prevented smuggling

Yesterday, the customs post "Mukachevo" of the Transcarpathian customs office received for customs clearance of coniferous timber in the "export" mode a customs declaration and shipping documents for the goods in the amount of 34.5 cubic meters and with the customs value of more than 40,000 UAH.

The documents for customs clearance were filed by an individual entrepreneur, a citizen of Ukraine from Transcarpathia. According to the contract and the customs declaration filed electronically, the buyer and the consignee of the goods was a Czech company.

In the course of checking compliance with the law, customs officials sent a request to the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Department.

As a reult, it was revealed that the certificate of timber origin for export transactions that the citizen had received was for a completely different batch of timber, but not for the one that was mentioned in the documents submitted for customs clearance.

Thus, she had committed actions aimed at transportation of goods across the border that were concealed from customs control by submission of documents containing false information.

These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
