Slovakia confirms the availability of technical capacity to increase reverse gas supplies to Ukraine.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico during a meeting with the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the "Ukrainski Novyny" informed.

"Me and you, Mr. Prime Minister, opened the reverse supply in Kapusany (Veľké Kapušany, Slovakia), and here, there is a technical capacity to increase the volume of gas supplies from 11.5 billion cubic meters" – he said.

Fico added that one third of Ukraine’s needs in gas is covered by the reverse supplies from Slovakia.

He noted that it is important to preserve Ukraine and Slovakia’s status of gas transmission countries and any negotiations on gas transit in Europe should take into account their interests.

As reported, Ukraine, according to the latest data of the Slovak gas transport system operator Eustream, has increased imports of natural gas through "Vojany – Uzhgorod" pipeline to 41.411 million cubic meters per day on January 29.
