In Uzhgorod, a theft from the state archive was solved
Four seekers of easy money have stolen iron bars and beams from the administrative building of the regional state archive.
Recently, Uzhgorod city police received information that unknown persons had entered the administrative building of the State Archive of Transcarpathian region and stolen from there ten iron bars and eight metal beams.
Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department found out that three Uzhgorod residents aged 23-27 years and their 29-year-old friend, a resident of Uzhgorod district were involved in the theft of metal. One of the thieves had spent several years in prison for a similar crime.
The thieves confessed to the crime and explained that they had committed the theft at night. Thus, they wanted to earn money to spend on their own needs.
Uzhgorod police investigation department opened a criminal proceeding over this fact under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft), the sanction of which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years.
Physical evidence was seized. The thieves give testimony to the police, the pre-trial restraint against them is being decided.
