In Tyachiv district, a previously convicted extortionist was caught

A resident of the village of Ruske Pole reported to Tyachiv District Police that an unknown citizen demanded from him money for the return of driver's license, which the victim had recently lost.
As the police found out, the victim had already given some money to the extortionist, but the offender was too pushy and wanted more... As a result, he ended up in the hands of police officers.
When the previously convicted extortionist was caught, at that time he had already received from the victim the money in the amount of 2,350 UAH.
Now, the senior investigator of Tyachiv District Police Yuriy Martinich is establishing all the circumstances of the crime.
According to the Acting Chief of Tyachiv District Police Vasyl Pokovba, currently the issue of imposing a pre-trial restraint on the offender in the form of detention is being decided. For committing this crime he faces a sentence in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 7 years.
