In Transcarpathia, a city council did allow journalists to be present at the meeting

On February 13, in the city of Vynogradiv in Transcarpathian region, during the regular meeting of the City Council, deputies voted to close the session. Thus, all journalists were forced to leave the session hall. This was reported to the regional representative of the IMI by the chief editor of the online pulication "Holos Karpat" Vasyl Kish.

The proposition to hold the meeting in closed mode was announced by the Mayor Stepan Bochkay without explanation.

Later, he told reporters that three issues had been considered at the meeting - the report of the head of a public utility, the report of the City Council Secretary and appointment of the Deputy Mayor.

The Mayor of Vynogradiv Stepan Bochkay in his comments to the IMI confirmed that the meeting was closed because deputies voted for it. According to him, the Regulations of the City Council allow to hold meetings in closed session. He added that at present, there have been no questions from law enforcement agencies about the City Council meeting of February 13.
