IMF proposes to increase the retirement age for men - the Minister
The Minister of Social Policy informed about the negotiations with the IMF on increasing the retirement age.
He said this in an interview with the TV program "Headlines".
"Currently, we are actively working on the memorandum of the IMF... various options, various issues are being discussed, and of course, I admit that there is a debate about the proposition of the IMF to consider... increasing the retirement age for men as a way to reduce the Pension Fund deficit" - he said.
According to him, various ways of such increase are being discussed: by 2 and 5 years (gradually over 10 years).
Rozenko said he did not consider raising the retirement age a viable way to solve the problem of the PF deficit.
As reported, the National Commission for Regulation of Financial Services has discussed the program of funded pension insurance.
The Ministry of Social Policy considers raising the retirement age ineffective way to cover the PF deficit.
