At the session of the Regional Council, it is planned to approve the agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary
A draft decision to approve the agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary is submitted to the plenary session of the Regional Council. It is the agreement between the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on cooperation in the implementation of development projects undertaken within the framework of the Program of Eastern Partnership in Ukraine in 2015, signed on January 23, 2015. The agreement was signed by the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the minister Peter Siarto.
Thanks to the financial support that was provided by the parties in 2012-2013 in the amount of 1.1 million US dollars, 76 development projects in 50 facilities in Transcarpathia have been implemented.
For the implementation of projects in the years 2013-2014, the MFAT provided financial assistance in the amount of 500 thousand dollars under the Assistance Agreement signed with an intermediary organization. The same is the amount of the Regional Council financial share in the project. Due to the mentioned financial assistance within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Program, 40 development projects in 33 sites have been implemented. The implementation of projects scheduled for 2013-2014 is in the process of completion.
Thus, the parties - on the basis of previous agreements - decided to continue cooperation for 2015 to achieve the goal, and undertake to provide financial support for project implementation. In particular, the MFAT undertakes to provide financial assistance in the amount of HUF 155,000,000 according to the list. These funds will be used to modernize facilitie having a significant cultural and national value, to implement projects for upgrade of energy efficiency and heating systems at school, social, cultural and religious educational institutions, health care facilities development, preservation of historical and cultural heritage of Transcarpathia and more.
In the near future, the final list of projects to be funded will be made.
