What does the police know about the Transcarpathian "winged smugglers?"

The Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region reported that the accident of the smuggler aircraft was found out due to power supply interruption.

They inform: in Transcarpathia, smugglers damaged a power line, beat a guard and escaped in a SUV. The perpetrators are wanted by the police.

This story began when at the Mynai water intake station, located in the village of Kholmok in Uzhgorod district, last night electricity supply suddenly went off.

Workers of the station examined the area and found a broken power transmission line. Nearby in the field, they saw a dark SUV with a covered trailer and blocked its way with their own vehicle.

Two men came out of the SUV, beat the station worker and drove off. They tried to pursue them, but the SUV managed to escape from the pursuers.

The workers of the station reported the incident to the police. The investigative team was sent to the scene.

Near the damaged power line, the police found a blade of the glider and other evidence. Probably, the smugglers' hang glider was returning after the illegal flight from Hungary and broke the power line while landing.

The police are searching for the suspects - the communication department of the National Police Office in Transcarpathian region inform.
