The meeting was attended by the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, the First Deputy Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Laszlo Vida, newly elected chairmen of district councils, mayors of the major cities in the region, heads of district state administrations, heads of law enforcement and regulatory authorities, media representatives, - the press service of the Regional Council.
After the traditional minute of silence to honor the fallen heroes of Ukraine, Rivis said a few inspirational words regarding the Volunteer Day and the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Of course, he mentioned another date, the "professional holiday" of deputies and state officials - the Day of Local Government.
Since the vast majority of the deputies were elected to the Regional Council for the first time, a little briefing was conducted for them on how to use the panel and cards, after which 61 present deputies began to work.
After the announcement of a number of parliamentary inquiries and appeals by the Chairman, they considered the agenda for the first session of the Regional Council of the VII convocation. Mykhailo Rivis suggested to exclude several issues from the agenda. These issues will be discussed at the next session after all relevant approvals. The deputies supported the suggestion, as well as the following one - on the election of the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council.
Thus, the Chairman of the Regional Council nominated for the position Yosyp Borto, a representative of the "KMKS" Party of Hungarians of Ukraine.
As a result of the secret ballot, 45 deputies supported the candidate Yosyp Borto for the position of the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council.
The new Deputy Chairman told about his priorities on the position: in addition to the standard words about peace, stability and international cooperation, he also told about plans to improve the roads in the region, quality water supply, wastewater discharge, and solid waste recycling.
The deputies also considered and approved the decision on the formation of standing parliamentary committees and the presidium of the Regional Council. After that, the first session of the new Council was closed. The deputies will meet again on the 20th of December.
