Wardens of a Russian penitentiary beat a teenager from Transcarpathia to death

In Belorechie penitentiary in the Kuban, the staff beat to death a teenager Vitaliy Pop, who had come to Russia from Transcarpathian region. 

According to the "Novaya Gazeta", the incident took place on November 25, the parents of the boy were notified of his death two days later, but they still do not give the body. 16-year-old Vitaly arrived to Kuban from Ukraine to his parents who had a small business in Russia. There, according to the publication, he "got involved with the bad company", took part in a robbery, and was sentenced to 4 years 8 months in prison.

On the night of November 25, seven teenagers, including Vitaliy, were brought to the penitentiary. where they were forced to go into the shower, undress, and 5-6 officers of the penitentiary beat all of them, but most of all the guy from Ukraine.  Vitaliy died as a result of the beatings.

Parents still have not received documents certifying the beatings – they have only seen photos and video. "There were two huge cuts on his head, and the head was as if twisted. The body was black as coal," – the father of the teenager says. Seven employees of the penitentiary, including the acting chief, were arrested for two months. Investigators initiated two criminal cases: under Part 4 of Article 111 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm that caused the death of the victim) and Part 3 of Article 286 (abuse of power causing serious consequences).
