Transcarpathian rescuers urge people to be cautious during a vacation in the mountains
With the arrival of winter and the first snow, the ski season started in Transcarpathian region. Resorts take fans of winter vacation, and rescuers are preparing to help people whose lives are threatened. Because arriving to the Carpathians, people often forget about caution. Failure to observe rules of conduct in the mountains can lead to injuries and even to death due to falling into an crevice or getting under an avalanche.
In connection with the start of the winter tourist season, Transcarpathian rescuers are actively conducting special trainings. In particular, December 9, at the ski resort in the village of Syanky in Lviv region, the training of Uzhgorod mountain search and rescue department of the special emergency and rescue unit of the Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region took place. Rescuers were training to rescue people stranded on the lift.
Similar training took place on December 10-11 on the Dragobrat mountain in Rakhiv district. There, representatives of the mountain search and rescue departments of Rakhiv and Yasinya were honing their skills in evacuation of victims from ski slopes, provision of first aid and search of people in avalanches. It is necessary to be ready to any emergencies related to mountain vacation.
However, it not only rescuers who should carefully prepare for the ski season. Transcarpathians and guests of the region themselves should not forget that the mountains do not forgive neglect of your own safety. To avoid tragical incidents, tourists should observe a number of rules. First of all, it is necessary to get registered at the nearest rescue service unit, prepare to a trip taking warm clothes and climbing equipment, do not go to the mountains unless accompanied by experienced tourists, avoid tops and bottoms of steep slopes so as not to get into an avalanche, do not move in a fog or in the dark and stop the trip in case of adverse weather conditions. Remember that failure to observe these rules can lead to irreparable consequences.
