The law on restructuring of foreign currency loans was vetoed
The President Poroshenko vetoed the law on restructuring of foreign currency loans and suggests to reject it.
It was stated in the post on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
"According to the National Bank, as today of, residents of Ukraine have been granted foreign currency loans in the amount of 4.28 billion dollars, equivalent to 98.08 billion hryvnia, the sum of all mortgage loans is 2.16 billion dollars, equivalent to 47.25 billion hryvnia," - the president said.
"According to the National Bank, the conversion of foreign currency loans at the exchange rate 5.05 hryvnia for one dollar, that is the rate, which was effective at the time of the conclusion of thee vast majority of loan agreements, will cause losses in the banking system in amount of over 76 billion hryvnia, which will inevitably have a negative impact on economic security of the state as a whole", - the president said.
"Bearing this in mind, I can not support the terms and conditions of restructuring of the liabilities under the loan agreements in foreign currency into the national currency of Ukraine and therefore I suggest to reject the Law of Ukraine "On the restructuring of liabilities on loans in foreign currency" - it is stated in the proposition.
As you know, on July 2, the Parliament passed the law №1558-1, which requires banks to restructure all loans taken for purchase of any property regardless of the amount at the exchange rate effectives at the date of signing the contract.
The adoption of the law was accompanied by protests of activists representing the interests of foreign currency borrowers outside the National Bank of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada.
Этот брехун (обещал реструктуризацию) дождался пока пройдут выборы и затем в нарушении всех регламентов наложил вето! Будь ты проклят!
