Since the beginning of the year, with the assistance of the local bodies of the SFS, 1,615 people have been officially employed in Transcarpathian region. Thus, the employees have been provided not only duties but also rights guaranteed by law.
Experts of the SFS in the region note that official employment of citizens benefits the budget too. In particular, in the form of 318,000 UAH of tax on personal income and 635,000 UAH of single contribution for obligatory state social insurance.
At the same time, the service remins that illegal employment is unstable, irregular, and therefore risky for employees, and does not guarantee employment income. Such illegal employment deprives employees of many social rights under the Constitution of Ukraine and the Labour Code of Ukraine: pensions, entitlement to benefits for temporary disability, paid leave, unemployment benefits, labor protection, it is not counted for work experience.
It is also worth noting that in 2015, the new provision of the Labor Code of Ukraine regarding responsibility of employers for the use of hired labor without legal registration and payment of wages "in envelopes" came into force. The relevant amendments to the legislation are regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to certain legislative Acts of Ukraine on the reform of compulsory state social insurance and payroll legalization" dd. December 28, 2014 № 77-VIII.
