In Uzhgorod, there is not enough funds to index salaries for public sector employees, but the mayor's office said that they would find it

Before the second round of the mayoral elections, one of the candidates for the mayor - Bogdan Andriyiv - promised indexation of salaries for Uzhgorod state employees.

So after he became the mayor, Uzhgorod.in decided to ask about the fate of the salaries of teachers and doctors.

Here is what we were told at the city council.

"B.Andriyiv raised the issue of indexation at the first meeting of session - December 3. The deputies voted unanimously. 10,830,000 UAH was allocated. In particular, UAH 5 million 404 thousand for the indexation of salaries of teachers, UAH 5 million 428 thousand for the indexation of salaries of medical workers.

However, it is only 59% and 44% of the demand, respectively.

In general, according to the financial department, the need for funds for the indexation of salaries in education sector of Uzhgorod is UAH 9 million 121 thousand 490, in the health sector - UAH 12 million 212 thousand 300. Given this, the deputies decided to appeal to the Government to allocate additional funds for full indexation of salaries of public sector employees."

It is unknown whether these funds will be allocated from Kyiv and when.
