In Transcarpathia, the losses caused by the November floods have been estimated

The recent flood in Transcarpathia caused damages at more than UAH 30 million. This figure was announced during the meeting of the commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies under the chairmanship of the acting head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Oleksandr Petik.

The disaster caused damage and destruction of public roads in Volovets, Mizhhirya, Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts. There, the commission inspected the damaged roads and determined the scope of destruction.     

The flood damaged and partially destroyed 3.9 km of dams and 1.86 km of bank reinforcements. Total losses amounted to UAH 11.9 million. The estimated cost of the repair works is UAH 86.7 million, including 6.7 million for clearing river channels.

Eight administrative units of the region suffered from the disaster, Rakhiv, Tyachiv and Mizhhirya districts were affected the most.

Therefore, after the discussion, the commission decided to classify the situation prevailing in the region on ​​20-22 of November as natural emergency of the regional level.

Oleksandr Petik instructed the relevant departments to immediately take necessary measures to submit to the head of the RSA propositions for the allocation of funds from the regional budget reserve fund or provision of other grants to the affected districts for emergency response. And also to send an appeal to the Cabinet requesting to allocate funds to restore the affected public facilities in the region in the next year.
