He would steal jewelry from women and give it to his girlfriend.

A 30-year-old resident of Uzhgorod would commit crimes because of problems with money. Robbing women, the attacker would resort to physical violence. The man would attack his victims at night when there would be no witnesses on the streets.

Detectives of Uzhgorod Police Department caught a man who had committed two robberies within several weeks. The attacker would rob only women on the streets in the dark time of the day.   

The first victim of the robber was a 20-year-old resident of Uzhgorod district, an employee of a cafe in the regional center, who was returning home at night, walking on Mynaiska street. The attacker snatched from the victim a wallet and a cell phone.In addition, using physical force, he tore silver earrings off her ears, which he then gave to his girlfriend.

Another victim of the robber was a 23-year-old resident of Uzhgorod. The attacker assaulted the woman near her home. The robber approached the victim from behind, grabbed her by the head and snatched her purse. This time, the robber took two mobile phones and the victim's driving license.

Examining the circumstances of these attacks, the detectives of Uzhgorod Police Department found out that a 30-year-old local resident was involved in the commission of the criminal offenses. In the past, the man was often brought to criminal responsibility and even spent about seven years in prison for a serious crime.

Criminal proceedings over these facts were initiated under Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The offender faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years. Physical evidence was seized. The robber confessed to having committed the offenses. The preliminary inquiry is ongoing.
