Border guards detected another car with contraband cigarettes
At the international checkpoint "Tisa" on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, for the third time in a week, border guards together with customs officials prevented a smuggling of cigarettes across the border.
Yesterday, a car "Mercedes" driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the border and customs checkpoint "Tisa". The man was driving on the simplified control lane "green corridor". However, this did not save the Ukrainian from scrutiny because border guards decided to conduct an in-depth inspection of the vehicle which they carried out together with representatives of the customs office.
During the joint inspection, after dismantling of the left and right whellhouse plastic linings in front of the car, they found cigarettes "Winston" made in Ukraine. The total number of the found cigarettes amounted to 120 packs.
The cigarettes were seized according to the statutory procedure, their cost is 2,040 UAH. The same fate befell the car "Mercedes" released in 2001, which was estimated at more than 180,000 UAH.
