Weekend in Vynogradiv: fire, smoke, carbon monoxide stench and choking

Weekend brought us problems. Almost 40 degree heat led to the 5th, the highest level of fire hazard and caused a complicated emergency - long-lasting fire at the city landfill on Leizman street where solid waste from all over the district is dumped.   Today the situation is controlled, the garbage is smoldering, so experts are already talking about a possible complete elimination of fire.

Korneliy Paraska, the head of the State Fire and Rescue Unit №6 in Vynogradiv:

- On Friday, August 14, firefighters of the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Vynogradiv and local fire department of the village of Korolevo were sent at the scene. Subsequently, it was decided to engage additional equipment and personnel. We called from Khust garrison additional forces to ensure uninterrupted supply of water to the fire trucks that are working at the landfill.  It is a fire pump station with two tank engines. The special vehicle from Khust State Fire and Rescue Unit number 10 is deployed on the bank of the Tisa. The distance to the emergency zone is more than two kilometers, so we built a large trunk line, connected together more than one hundred fire hoses and achieved a huge capacity - 110 liters per second. Other services and entrepreneurs contributed to elimination of the fire, they provided an excavator and three dump trucks that are now bunding the perimeter of the landfill.
