The official events organized by the State Self-Government of Ukrainians in Hungary and the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary included laying of flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko on the eponymous Kobzar Square in Budapest, a concert and friendly reception.
Special participants of the event were the children of the Heroes of Ukraine, whose parents were killed or injured during the ATO. Recall that this year, with the support of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary, 650 children were sent to a summer camp on the banks of the Lake Velence.
The Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Hungary Mykhailo Jünger, the Head of the State Self-Fovernment of Ukrainians in Hungary Yuriy Kravchenko, the spokesman for the Ukrainian community at the National Assembly of Hungary Yaroslav Khortyani, the Ambassador of Hungary in Kyiv Ernyo Keshken made speeches at the event.
The honored guests were the defenders of Ukraine, who are now undergoing treatment in Hungary after severe injuries received during the ATO in the eastern regions of Ukraine.
The group of Ukrainian volunteers in Hungary visited our defense in the hospital room. Never has the anthem of Ukraine been sung in Budapest with such trepidation. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
