From now Transcarpathians will be recruited to the army only under contracts - the General Staff summed up the 6th wave
During the last wave of mobilization, the plan was fulfilled by just over half.
The sixth wave of mobilization was fulfilled by 60%. The rest will be covered with contract soldiers - this was informed at the briefing on Tuesday in Kyiv by the deputy head of the General Staff mobilization department Oleksandr Pravdyvets.
As you know, the sixth wave of mobilization, according to the presidential decree, took place from June 19 to August 17.
"The plan of conscription for military service under mobilization was fulfilled by over 60%, including officers - by more than 80%, and vehicles - by more than 30%," - Pravdyvets said.
"As a result of the mobilization, 8.5% of volunteers and 25.7% of temporarily unemployed were called up," - he added.
Answering the journalists' question about how they would cover the 40% shortfall, Pravdyvets said:
"According to the presidential decree of August 17, the conscription under mobilization is finished. There are no legal grounds to prolong it. The difference will be compensated by recruitment for military service under contracts."
According to him, it will be "almost 10% of each wave of mobilization."
Also the colonel refused to specify the number of troops drafted under the 6th wave of mobilization: "We do not disclose this data. It's a classified information."
