The Russians wanted to interfere in the Transcarpathian elections – the Security Service of Ukraine

In Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine has prevented an attempt of Russian special services to influence the preparation and conduct of local elections in 2015.

Special services of Russia under the guise of a private Moscow organization tried to promote local "leftists" to further influence the situation in the region. In return for that, Moscow curators promised to finance their campaign.

The Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region declared an official warning to one of the functionaries of the left-wing party about the unaccepatibility of actions classified under Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as treason, – the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine informs.
