This year, the number of students at schools of Transcarpathia will be two thousands more than last year
On September 1, 668 schools in the region will open their doors to Transcarpathian students. According to the Department of Education and Science of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the first bell will call to school 157,000 students, which in 2,000 more than that in the last year.
17,915 first-graders will sit at school desks for the first time. And for more than 8,000 eleventh-graders, the first bell at schools will ring for the last time.
The theme of the first lesson at schools is determined individually. The Ministry of Education encourages to draw children's attention to the history of Ukrainian state, the history of state symbols, the like.
This year, under the Program of education development in Transcarpathia, 3,000,000 UAH has been allocated
from the regional budget for the purchase of school furniture, 1,900,000 UAH - for computer systems. For these funds, they have bought 4,500 desks for Transcarpathian first-graders and equipped 11 computer classrooms in schools of the region.
