The map of Ukraine made of puzzles was painted and assembled by orphans (PHOTOS)
The highlight of the celebration of the 24th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day in Irshava was the assembling of a big puzzle - map of Ukraine.
The campaign "Ukraine United" was arranged by an artist and master from Uzhgorod Tetyana Porynets on the eve of the holiday, August 23, on the central square. It was preceded by the making of wooden puzzles - 24 regions of Ukraine. They were made by master Andriy Donichenko. He carved the gift for the city - a map of Transcarpathia. Financially the campaign was supported by a local public activist Victor Tovsty, who said that in such an original way they wanted to convey to children that Ukraine is united and indivisible country.
As Ms. Porynets told the Uzhgorod.in, first the puzzles were painted.This mission was assigned to orphan children and children from disadvantaged families. And those were more than 50 young artists. The puzzle-regions were painted mostly in joyful colors - yellow, blue, orange. For example, Lviv has a lion on a yellow background, and Vinnytsia region - with wheat field and blue sky. In turn, the native Transcarpathia was portrayed by kids with mountains, lake Synevyr and the Narcissus Valley. This took a little over an hour. And later, the assembly of the map of Ukraine began. As a result, a "puzzzle" country measuring 3 to 5 meters.
