In Uzhgorod, the driver, who hit a child, has been found

The police tracked down the driver, who had hit a 4-year-old girl in Uzhgorod and fled.

The traffic police officers found a 20-year-old Uzhgorod resident, who driving a car "VAZ-21093" had hit a 4-year old child on Saturday in Uzhgorod. But instead of helping the victim or calling an ambulance, the driver fled from the scene. 

 On Saturday, August 15, about 18.00, Uzhgorod city police received a report that on Hranitna street in the regional center, a traffic accident had happened. The driver of a car "VAZ" hit a very young girl.

 The investigative team arrived at the scene. It was found out that the accident occurred near the house where the girl lives. The 4-year-old child was playing outside with other children. There she was ran over by an unknown car, and the driver fled from the scene without helping the injured child.

 The injured girl was hospitalized in the children's department of the hospital. And the police started searching for the driver.

 Soon, the city traffic police found out that the child had been hit by a 20-year-old resident of Uzhgorod driving a car VAZ-21093. During the examination of the vehicle, traffic police officers detected damage characteristic of an accident. When asked why he had not helped the victim, the driver said that he had panicked...

 The criminal proceeding under Part 1 st.286 Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety) has been opened over this fact. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for a term of up to three years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. The vehicle was taken to the impound lot. The investigation is ongoing.
