"Fight" for 12 packages of smuggled cigarettes

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on the orders of the President of Ukraine, carries out a range of measures aimed at countering illegal activities at the state border. This work is conducted in close cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.

However, individuals, who are involved in illegal activities, are unwilling to stop their "business". Instead, they try to exert pressure on officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, hoping in this way to make them stop hindering their illegal activities.

Thus, on August 25, officers of the Border Guard Service department "Solotvyno" of the Mukachevo border guard detachment together with Romanian colleagues, detained for violation of the state border of Ukraine a citizen of Ukraine, resident of Rakhiv district and 12 packages of smuggled cigarettes.

During the arrest, the border patrol was forced to use weapons, namely to make warning shots in the air to stop the offense.

After the arrest of the offender, about 25 locals arrived at the scene. Later, people began to express dissatisfaction about the detention of the resident of Rakhiv and to threaten officers of the Mukachevo border guard detachment.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, heads of law enforcement agencies and local governments were informed about the conflict situation.

By joint efforts, the conflict situation was localized.

The offender was taken to the border guard unit for execution of administrative procedural documents, a statement to the Rakhiv District Police on threats to the personnel of the Mukachevo border guard detachment was written.
