All professions are important - UzhNU counts recruits

The feature of this year's entrance campaign was that graduates preferred to apply not to the capital's universities and institutes, as in past years, but to the West Ukraine's ones. Lviv National University and the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" led the popularity rating. And Kyiv National University named after Shevchenko, which until now was considered the undisputed leader, is only the third in it. It is unfortunate that Uzhgorod National University is not this list, but the flagship of Transcarpathian education and science also has much to be proud of, the Novyny Zakarpattya assure.

In particular, the number of applications was over 15,500 (as of August 7). Last year, the record was 12,500. "This year, there were no technical problems with the use of the unified state education electronic database. Everything was working, information was updated regularly," - Petro Horvat, the executive secretary of the selection committee says. In general, the competition for state-funded seats at UzhNU was big. The most popular specialities among entrants are "Medicine", followed by "Law". Other popular majors are "Biology", "English Language and Literature", "Tourism", "Pharmacy" and "Dental". Among foreigners, medical and dental faculties enjoyed the greatest demand.

Recall: the list of entrants recommended for enrollment to state-funded seats was published before 12.00 on August 6. Those, who are listed in it, must fulfill several requirements to be admitted to state-funded seats. Importantly, it should be done by 18.00 on August 10. The names of those, who will study under contract, will be known no later than August 17.
