A Mercedes was confiscated from a Ukrainian on the border (PHOTOS)
Yesterday, at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, customs officers seized a "Mercedes-Benz" from a citizen of Ukraine. The reason was illegal transportation of cigarettes across the customs border of Ukraine in a specially made cache.
Based on analysis and risk assessment results, the vehicle was taken out of the general flow for customs inspection, during which they found tobacco products hidden in a specially made cache. In particular, 166 packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine were placed in a specially equipped constructive recess in the dashboard, under the front windshield.
The Ukrainian recognized the excise goods as her property and told that she was carrying them across the customs border of Ukraine to Hungary with the intention of selling them for profit.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the direct objects of customs rules violation, worth over 2,000 UAH and the vehicle with a specially made cache, worth over 91,400 UAH were confiscated, the press service of the SFS in Transcarpathia informs.
