A little bit of history. “Trembitas call to the Synevyr” – what was the last festival like? (PHOTOS)

In 2009, the festival "Trembitas call to the Synevyr" took place for the last time, then several years of break followed.  The festival was launched in 2001 by the governor Hennadiy Moskal in the national park "Synevyr" near the lake of the same name, in the village of Synevyrska Polyana in Mizhhirya district. Since then, the event was taking place annually.

I have found my last report on the festival – from 2009. "This year with the weather was good, the event in comparison with previous years was poorly attended. And the lake itself was not pleasing to the eye – due to lack of rains, as local residents explained, it has become shallow and looked like a big swamp. But, they say, it will soon be flowing again.

The tables along the road to the lake, where each village of the district used to offer local specialties, were also empty – the report states.- But there were many tents with wine and honey. Tourists were happy to buy natural products. The other side of the lake, where the stage was arranged, could be reached by a raft. That was pretty much all the exotic.     The symbol of the festival – trembita – was also very popular.      It is good that youth decided to revive the craft of trembita making. According to the director of Mizhhirya professional lyceum Vasyl Marynets, the lyceum students look for "recipes" of the instrument making in villages. At the festival they presented two trembitas made by themselves."

And this year, on August 30, after several years break, trembitas will call to the Synevyr again. This is the idea of the same head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.

The program is a little different from previous ones. In particular, the special guest of the festival will be Luhansk regional Cossack equestrian theater. During more than 10 years of its activity, the theater has gained recognition at home and abroad – in Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Belarus. The spectacular demonstration performances of the riders from Luhansk region will open the festival at 12.00.

Then there will be theatrical march to the Synevyr lake with visits to rural estates accompanied by folk musicians, official delegation ferry-crossing the lake to the main venue of the celebration. Also the performances of folk groups of the region and a finalist of the show "The Voice" Ivan Pylypets and People’s Artist of Ukraine Ivan Popovich are planned, – the department of culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.

The purpose of the festival is promotion of Transcarpathian traditions and folklore, as well as the presentation of the tourist attractions of the region, in particular, natural attraction – the Synevyr Lake, the largest lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians and, according to the experts from across the country, one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine".

But there is another side to the coin – social activists and nature conservationists complain that the festival in the conservation area affects fauna, especially birds, that are sensitive to noise. Power lines leading to the lake destroy the authentic landscape. And, of course, trash left by vacationers does not adorn our gem.

…Well, already on Sunday we will see what the renewed festival "Trembitas call to the Synevyr" will be like this year and whether it will create the right mood.
