Time has proven that pseudo-optimization in Transcarpathia in the form of joining two military commissariats into one, particularly into Irshava-Vynogradiv, was not beneficial. But it was done as part of the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then throughout the region, two districts were joined into one military commissariat, because there was a downsize in Armed Forces, but now it is a proven fact: it was wrong and inappropriate decision.
Both former and current local officials have regularly advocated the restoration of Vynogradiv District Military Commissariat. After years of studying the issue and official correspondence, they finally have received confirmation of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine that the District Minitary Commissariat will be estavlished, preliminary by the end of April. Also, the General Staff requested the assistance of state and local governments to restore the functioning of the military commissariat, in particular, to provide premises, refurbishment, and means of communication.
Today, Vynogradiv district is second only to Mukachevo district in terms of the number of mobilized men dispatched to military training centers.
