Ukraine wants to increase salaries of civil servants at the expense of the EU funds
he National Council on Reforms intends to establish a fund to finance public service that can be set up in 6-8 months with the support of the European Union and will be used to increase wages of civil servants.
This was announced by the deputy head of the presidential administration Dmytro Shymkiv at the briefing after the meeting of the National Council, the UNIAN reported.
According to Shymkiv, at the meeting of the National Council, it was agreed on the impossibility of financing of the fund both from the budget due to the limited funds and by the business due to possible lobbying.
"Now, there is a discussion involving the European Union on the financing of the fund or the fund may be created by the European Union, but the payments must be made directly to the special fund of the state budget," - the deputy head of the presidential administration said.
According to Shymkiv, payment of wages from the public service financing fund will not apply to employees of state enterprises.
"We are talking about financing of reform teams only in public service, not at state enterprises, because state-owned enterprises must earn profit to pay decent wages," - he said.
