Transcarpathian border guards detained another group of illegal immigrants
Local residents helped border guards to find a group of illegal migrants who attempted to cross the state border
Recently, border guards of the Chop detachment arrested another group of illegal immigrants from Southeast Asia.
Having received the information from concerned citizens about illegal immigrants hiding in abandoned non-residential building, border guards found a group of men near the state border.
As a result of the measures taken, the task force arrested three illegal immigrants on the approaches to the state border. As it turned out, according to the offenders themselves, two men were citizens of Bangladesh, one was a citizen of Sri Lanka.
The violators of the state border, were delivered to border guard unit to clarify the circumstances of the offense and to draft administrative and procedural documents.
As a result of further measures aimed at identification of persons involved in the attempt of smuggling of those citizens, border guards in cooperation with the police established the place of their stay, which was an apartment in Uzhgorod. In addition, they received information that there might be another group of illegal immigrants, citizens of Vietnam in that appartment.
Subsequently, a joint group of border guards and the police found in the said apartment four male citizens of Vietnam without IDs. The violators of the state border were arrested. Their further fate and responsibility under the law will be determined by the court.
