Transcarpathia asked the Government for half a billion for road repairs

The management of the region appealed to the Government asking to increase state budget financing of the roads in the region to UAH 500 million.

Currently, the Government is ready to give the region only UAH 67 million. Also the regional administration complained that in recent years the region has received only 15% of the required funds for road renovation. The highway Kyiv-Chop in length of 132 kilometers is need of immediate overhaul, as the roadbed is being rapidly destroyed.

It was supposed to be repaired three years ago at the expense of the European Union, but the project was never implemented. In addition, the construction of the bypass road near Rakoshyno and Beregovo has been suspended for three years now.

The region suggests the Government to raise funds of European financial institutions for the overhaul of the road Beregovo - Vylok - checkpoint "Dyakovo", Dolyna - Khust and the bypass road near Beregovo. Also, the leadership of the region suggests the Government to develop a mechanism for using funds of local budgets for the repair of public roads.
