The expenditures for subsidies in Ukraine have increased fivefold

The total amount of subsidies, intended to compensate the costs of housing and communal services in Ukraine, in January-March of 2015, amounted to UAH 127.7 million, which is UAH 102.7 million, or 5.1 times more than that for January-March of 2014.

This is reported in the statement of the State Statistics Service.

According to the data, these figures are exclusive of temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, and part of the area of the antiterrorist operation in the east. The data on Donetsk and Luhansk regions may be updated.

According to the State Statistics Service, in January-March 2015, subsidies were granted to 392 thousand families, representing 99.1% of the total number of those who have applied for them, and 2.3 times higher than that in January-March 2014.

60.6% of the families, who have received subsidies in January-March 2015, consist of one person.

The average amount of subsidy to compensate for the costs utility services per family in March 2015 increased threefold compared with March 2014 – up to UAH 273.9.

The highest amount of subsidies in March 2015 was recorded in Donetsk region (UAH 457.4), the lowest amount – in Transcarpathia and Kirovohrad regions (respectively, UAH 45.7 and UAH 87.4).

As reported with reference to the State Statistics Service, in 2014, the total amount of the subsidies to compensate for the costs of housing and utilities amounted to UAH 348.8 million, which is UAH 82.3 million or 30.9% higher than that in 2013.
