“Spring for two”: an exhibition of Transcarpathian artists will open in Kyiv

April 24, 2015, at the Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine (Kyiv, Frunze St., 41), there will be the opening of "SPRING FOR TWO" – a solo exhibition by Ukrainian artists Ivan and Larysa Brovdis.

Bright representatives of Transcarpathian school of painting will open the exhibition and for the first time in the capital will present more than 50 works from the last period of their creative life. This project is part of the museum’s series "Family Values ​​- Family Ties".

The visitors will have a unique opportunity to plunge into the world of traditions of the Transcarpathian school of painting, which is closely linked to the aesthetics of popular culture and, at the same time, is characterized by the irresistible desire to experiment and fantasize.   According to the director of the Museum Oksana Koval, "all the works of the couple, who have been together for sixty years, are filled with love for their land and life, they are positive and reassuring. Each artwork radiates goodness and harmony, as if calling us all to peace of mind and peace in the world."  

 

There will be a surprise for young visitors at the opening, they will have a chance to use stencils of some of artists’ works and to try to recreate the originals with crayons, and also to talk to the artists themselves.

The catalog of the artists’ will also be presented at the opening.

The exhibition will run from April 24 to May 31, 2015
