In Transcarpathia, the police caught a 15-year-old thief who had robbed the lyceum principal's office
A night thief, breaking a window, entered the office of the principal of Beregovo service trade professional lyceum and stole from there a laptop worth more than 6,000 UAH. Within two hours, the crime was solved.
In the morning, the janitor of the lyceum noticed that the window pane in the reception room was broken and the door to the principal's office was damaged. The woman immediately reported that to the principal, and he called the police.
During the inspection of the scene, it was found out that the thief had stolen from the office a laptop worth more than 6,000 UAH.
An hour later, CID officers had the information about the possible thief. It was a 15-year-old previously convicted resident of Beregovo. When police officers came to the young man, he immediately confessed to the crime and showed the place where he had sold the stolen laptop.
This young man, despite his young age, has been repeatedly judged for theft and robbery. At age the age of 11, he was sent to juvenile prison, where he was serving a sentence for 3 years. However, it did not reformed the young thief. Freed from prison, he returned to criminal activities.
Criminal proceeding has been opened over this fact under Part 3 of Art. 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The thief faces imprisonment for up to 6 years.
The stolen laptop was seized and will be returned to the owner.
