Gas prices for consumers can grow further – media

As a result of adoption of the bill №2250 "On the natural gas market", prices of natural gas for the population can grow even more.

"The tariff for gas distribution under the new (and old) law "On natural gas market" shall be set by the regulator. And given the fact that the cost of gas transportation services, including that from (low pressure) distribution networks, includes the rent, it can affect the tariff increase and, consequently, the final price of gas for consumers" – the author writes.

According to her, in this case, households, public organizations and industry will have to pay also for rent of gas distribution networks.

Also the author wonders why, if the government demands the adoption of the law providing for the use of natural gas distribution systems exclusively "for a fee", there has not been timely prepared a proper bill that would establishing standards of paid use, and not "suspend" gas distribution network in an indeterminate state indefinitely .

As you know, on April 9, the Parliament adopted the law on the natural gas market, which in particular will oblige the regional gas companies, most of which are owned by businessmen, to pay for the use of distribution networks.
