EIT has started!

Today, April 24, the independent external testing (EIT) has started. It began with the Ukrainian language and literature.

There are several innovations. According to the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment, this year, applicants shall submit for admission to higher education institutions EIT certificates of 2015 only. Each testing participant has the right to take tests in no more than four subjects from the list: Ukrainian language and literature, history of Ukraine, mathematics, biology, geography, physics, chemistry, English, Spanish, German, Russian, French.

This year, applicants will be taking the Ukrainian language and literature and mathematics tests of two difficulty levels – basic and advanced (to be chosen during registration). The difficulty level of the test required for admission will be determined according to the Rules of admission to higher education institution.

For all graduates of secondary schools in 2015, EIT results in Ukrainian language and literature will be counted as a result of the STA. They will be determined based on the number of points gained in assignments in Ukrainian only.

One of the most important innovations in the testing this year is the introduction of European practices in determination of the results, which implies the so-called threshold points "passed / not passed" in each subject. That is the number of test points that can be scored by a minimally prepared applicant. Participants of the tests, who will not reach the "threshold", will not be able to use the result of testing on this subject for university admission. All applicants, whose results will be equal to or more than the "threshold points," will receive a grade on a scale of 100-200 points and will be eligible to participate in the competitive selection for admission to an institution.
