A Transcarpathian Hungarian from Kholmok himself cleared a sign defaced by provocateurs (PHOTOS)
Pictures of Gergey Morchak cleaning signs in Kholmok defaced by provocateurs that he posted in the Transcarpathian's profile received almost two hundred likes and dozens of shares.
In the comment to the photos, Gergey Morchak said that he did not expect such a positive response and added that restoring what has been vandalized is a quite natural thing to do. And if everyone kept order near their homes, the world would be much better - the Zakarpattya online informed.
As reported, recently unknown provocateurs defaced Hungarian inscriptions on signs of some Hungarian villages in Transcarpathia. In particular, Hungarian inscriptions and emblems on signs at the entrance to Velyka Dobron, Mala Dobron and Esen were painted over with black spray paint. Vandals also damaged the sign at the entrance to Kholmok. Also they defaced and partly vandalized decorative wooden signs in Hungarian. The Ukrainian inscriptions were left intact.
Law enforcement officers were immediately infromed of the incidents and they immediately started checking the information and looking for offenders. However, there has been no reports of the police activities in this matter.
Meanwhile, Transcarpathians agree that damaging and defacing of signs is obvious provocation aimed at destabilizing the situation in Transcarpathia by inciting tension between Ukrainian and Hungarian communities of the region.
