Uzhgorod Maidan asks police officers to go home

Having come out of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration building, our activists first announced the establishment of the People's Council, and then requested policemen to go home, because the decision of the Regional Council states that the police have to leave Narodna Square.

Activists said they were ready to make a human corridor for them. The first meeting of the People's Council will be held on Narodna Square at 14.00.

It should be noted that the Governor Ledyda did not vote for the establishment of the People's Council (and none of the members of the PR did - he said). Also the head of the RSA said that there are legitimate ways of the governor resignation, and that he was not going to write the letter of resignation, nor to withdraw from the party.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has resigned.
