The Security Service of Ukraine identified and arrested a man involved in the illegal trafficking

As part of the criminal proceeding, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region identified a foreign national involved in the illegal trafficking of 9 Afghan citizens across the Ukrainian-Slovakian border.

        In June this year, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region exposed and arrested the organizer of the illegal transaction - a citizen of Afghanistan, resident of Odessa, who directly supervised the process of illegal trafficking of his fellow citizens to the EU.

        During the preliminary investigation, it was found out that in exchange of $ 800, his accomplice - a 26-year-old citizen of Moldova, previously convicted of robbery and theft, a resident of Chernivtsi - in February this year, together with a criminal group had illegally transported illegal immigrants through Transcarpathia to Slovakia bypassing checkpoints.

        At the end of August, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the offender in Chernivtsi and took him to the investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region.

        The detainee was notified of suspision of having committed a crime under Part 3 of Art. 332 (illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed by previous concert by a group of people for mercenary motives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.  Uzhgorod City and District Court imposed a pretrial restraint on this citizen - detention.

        The pretrial investigation continues.
