The National Bank of Ukraine: Foreign currency can be withdrawn from account at the bank office
An authorized bank can give out foreign currency from current account or deposit accounts at the bank office under the request for cash.
This was reported on the official page of the National Bank in Facebook.
"Due to numerous requests of banks on the practical application of certain requirements of the NBU Board Resolution № 540 "On the introduction of additional mechanisms to stabilize the monetary and currency market of Ukraine", the National Bank provides the following explanation," - the statement reads.
Pursuant to subsection 13 of section 1 of the Resolution 540, giving out of cash within Ukraine by electronic means of payment issued by both residents and non-residents shall be made only in national currency.
The report notes that cash withdrawals from current (including card) and deposit accounts using electronic means of payment shall be made exclusively in hryvnia.
However, if a customer wishes to withdraw funds from their current account, deposit account in foreign currency, the authorized bank gives out the foreign currency cash at the bank office under the request for cash.
"In accordance with subsection 14 of section 1 of the Resolution 540, foreign currency transferred from abroad to physical persons - residents and nonresidents - to be paid out in cash without opening an account, shal be paid out to the recipient only in hryvnia" - the NBU informed.
