Slovakia began to supply gas to Ukraine!

Slovakia launches commercial gas supplies to Ukraine.

27 million cubic meters per day (10 billion cubic meters per year) will be supplied in the reverse direction via the reconstructed pipeline Voyany - Uzhgorod, - the representative of the Slovak gas transportation system operator - Eustream Vagram Chuhuryan said.

The expected price of gas is $ 360 per thousand cubic meters.

In August, the "Ukrtransgas" conducted a successful test reverse pumping through the pipeline.

On April 28, the "Ukrtransgas" and the Eustream signed the memorandum of understanding to ensure reverse gas supplies to Ukraine.

Ukraine reserved reverse supply of 27 million cubic meters a day by the end of 2019, - the Hromadske informed.

Due to the opening of the reverse supply from Slovakia, Ukraine substituted 40% of the gas previously bought from the Russian company "Gazprom".

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk at the ceremonial launching of the reverse gas supplies in Slovakia, - the press-service of the government reported, as cited by the Ekonomichna Pravda

Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine had "made many crucial decisions on energy efficiency and ensuring energy security."

The Prime Minister stressed that Europe needs new energy regulations, "fair, transparent, clear, which will not allow to create a monopoly in the energy market. Monopoly is a road to nowhere, both in economy and in energy. Therefore, competition, market transparency and effective protection of our and European Union's common energy security is the only right way."

"Also our way is diversification of energy supplies. Today, we are showing the reality of this diversification," - he said.
