In Transcarpathia, the Security Service of Ukraine detained traffickers of illegal migrants
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region arrested two local residents who tried to smuggle illegal immigrants across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
It was established that one of the men harbored 4 Afghan citizens in an abandoned cottage. His accomplice, who was wanted for the same illegal activity, was supposed to smuggle illegal immigrants across the state border, bypassing checkpoints.
In late August, near the city of Chop, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine stopped the car, in which the local resident was transporting two Afghan citizens. The same day, detectives arrested the second trafficker on the outskirts of the village of Chervone in Uzhgorod district, where he was waiting for his accomplice and illegal migrants.
Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine notified both detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Art.332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed by previous concert by a group of people).
The court imposed a pretrial restraint on those citizens of Ukraine - detention.
The pretrial investigation continues.
